Privacy notice.

This notice explains what chardonnAI collects when you use its wine conversation, why it is used, and how you can ask for it to be removed.

In short: when you chat with chardonnAI, we save the conversation and recommendation so the site owner can review and improve the service. We keep it for up to 30 days after your last message, then automatically delete it. Do not include sensitive or identifying information in your wine brief.

Who operates this service?

chardonnAI is an independent wine discovery prototype operated by the site owner, who is responsible for deciding how the conversation data described here is used.

For privacy questions, or to request access to or deletion of a conversation, call +44 7921 083383. If possible, include the approximate date and time of your chat so it can be located.

What we collect

Wine preference feedback is kept in your browser. During Palate IQ, your answers are held for the session; if you agree with the palate summary, the resulting profile is saved in your browser and may be sent with future wine requests to personalise recommendations. The profile is not stored with your conversation transcript by the API.

Why we use it

We use conversation data to operate the AI sommelier, keep each chat in context, review how well recommendations work, and improve the quality and reliability of chardonnAI. The site uses request limits to reduce abuse; its server stores a one-way IP hash for quota enforcement, separately from chat transcripts.

Who processes it?

Your conversation is sent to OpenAI through the chardonnAI Search API so the model can respond. OpenAI says API inputs and outputs are not used to train or improve its models by default. OpenAI’s standard abuse-monitoring logs may contain prompts and responses and are retained for up to 30 days, subject to the exceptions described in its data controls. The hosting and database providers also process information to run the service.

How long it is kept

The chardonnAI transcript is automatically deleted 30 days after the latest message in that conversation. The site owner can delete an individual transcript or all transcripts sooner. OpenAI and infrastructure providers may have their own limited operational retention as explained in their privacy and data-retention information.

Your choices and requests

You can stop using the chat at any time. You can ask for access to or deletion of a transcript by calling +44 7921 083383. The transcript uses a random reference rather than your account identity, so including the approximate date and time of your conversation can help locate it.

We do not ask you to enter sensitive personal information. Please keep your wine brief to preferences, food, occasion, and budget.

Changes to this notice

If the way conversations are collected or used changes, this page and the note beside the chat will be updated before the new practice begins.
